Getting here
Use Suzhou Metro Line 2 and look for Shantangjie station (山塘街). Follow current station signs and check the route to your chosen entrance. Keep the Chinese place name saved on your phone for directions.
Daylight or lantern light?
Daylight is good for noticing architecture and the texture of the street. An evening return brings a different atmosphere. Lighting arrangements change: check the current notice instead of planning around a fixed time from an old post.
Tickets and individual experiences
Boat rides, performances and enclosed attractions may have separate tickets and hours. Check the operator’s information on the day before paying. This guide does not sell tickets.
Rain, steps and crowded bridges
Wear shoes with grip and travel light. Old paving and bridge steps can be uneven. If you need a step-free route, confirm it locally rather than assuming all crossings are accessible.
